6- Energy Harvesting Communication Systems

Special Session Title: Energy Harvesting Communication Systems

Organizer:
Onur Kaya, onur.kaya{a*}isikun.edu.tr, Isik University, Faculty of Engineering

Call for Papers:
In next generation wireless systems, traditional communication system components that rely on batteries and / or the grid are expected to give way to energy harvesting environmentally friendly components with virtually unlimited lifetimes. To this end, new techniques, tailored to the intermittent structure of the harvested energy need to be developed, so that the scarce harvested energy is efficiently used in communication and signal processing. The aim of this special session is to create a medium to share recent results in the broad fields of  communication and signal processing under energy harvesting scenarios.
Topics of interest for this special session include, but are not limited to

  • Simultaneous wireless energy and information transfer,
  • Waveform design for energy cooperation and energy harvesting communication,
  • Optimal transmit scheduling, medium access, routing algorithms for energy harvesting systems,
  • Energy efficient signal processing applications for energy harvesting systems,
  • Energy harvesting communication systems under decoding / data processing costs,
  • Encoding / decoding techniques suitable for energy harvesting setups,
  • Implementation / realization of energy harvesting systems.
